JOB OVERVIEW: 

As an Estimator at Pinnacle Construction Partners, you will play a key role in the preparation of accurate, competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. You will collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are quoted accurately and within budgetary constraints. You will utilize your experience to analyze construction plans, perform take-offs, and ensure all aspects of the project are considered in the bid.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

​

• Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates.

• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for labor, materials, and equipment based on project drawings and specifications.

• Develop cost estimates for various types of construction projects, including industrial, commercial, and multi-family.

• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes and proposals to ensure competitive pricing.

• Work with project managers and field teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and potential issues during the pre-construction phase.

• Provide cost estimates for change orders, scope changes, and project variations.

• Maintain and update cost databases and vendor pricing to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.

• Coordinate with other departments, including procurement, scheduling, and project management, to ensure the estimate is aligned with the project’s goals and objectives.

• Attend pre-bid and post-bid meetings to discuss project requirements and clarify any uncertainties.

• Track and report on bid progress, ensuring timely completion of estimates.

• Assist with value engineering and alternative solutions to meet project requirements within budget constraints.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

​

• 5-7 years of estimating experience, preferably with a commercial general contractor.

• Proficient in On-Screen Takeoff (OST) or similar take-off software.

• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and systems.

• Knowledge of local construction market trends, codes, and regulations.

• Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other construction-related documents.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

​

• Experience with commercial, industrial, and multi-family construction projects.

• Familiarity with Procore or similar project management software.

• Estimating experience for complex projects with varying scopes and requirements.
